Let’s just start off with saying that no one has the perfect body shape. We can make little tweaks here and there for example getting Inverted Nipple Surgery in NYC but we cannot change the overall body shape that we were born with.
In spite of what Hollywood may try to tell us, that simply isn’t true. What is true is there are several different body types and one isn’t better than the other. What also is true is that the type of clothing styles that you wear can either help your particular body type look great or, not so great.
In order for you to determine your body type, you need to measure yourself. Don’t just guess. (Believe me, mirrors can be deceiving!) So grab a measuring tape and a friend to help you because it is very difficult to measure some parts of yourself and get it right. The more accurate you are now, the better you’ll look later. You can click here for directions on how to measure yourself correctly. Once you have your correct measurements, you can determine your body type.
Here are five common body types and some characteristics of each of them.
Apple Body Type: A person with an apple shape has a larger bust and waist, narrower hips and slender legs.
Triangle or Pear Body Type: A person with a triangle or pear shape has a slender neck, smaller shoulders, small bust and waist, and larger hips and thighs.
Hourglass Body Type: A person with an hourglass shape has a defined waist along with a balanced upper and lower body.
Inverted Triangle Body Type: A person with a triangle shape has broader shoulders and back, an undefined waist and narrow hips
Straight Body Type: A person with a straight shape has a bust line and hips that are equal in size. There is little definition between bust, waist, and hips.
Once you have figured out your body type, you can identify styles of clothing that work best for your body type. Remember, you can be beautiful and stylish with any body type. Do you know your body type? Which shape do you think is the most common among women today?
