With so many skirt styles available, skirts can be worn to any type of occasion or event. Professional or career skirts are generally more conservative, made of solid colors and straighter styles. Casual skirts can range from a cotton twill to a jersey knit and come in a shorter or longer length styles. Formal skirts are generally longer and have a strong emphasis on sparkle and are made of shimmery fabrics.

Full Skirt: A full skirt is gathered at the waist and has lots of fabric that falls away from the body. These types of skirts come in a variety of lengths and can be worn for casual and formal wear.
Pleated Skirt: Pleated skirts are formed by folding fabric back on itself and sewing the fabric into place at the waistband or mid section. These skirts generally are slimmer at the waist and wider at the bottom. These types of skirts come in a variety of lengths and can be worn for business and casual wear.
Maxi Skirt: Maxi skirts are long and straight or A line skirts that have their hemline just above your feet. These types of skirts are more of a casual wear style.
Boho Skirt: Boho or Bohemian skirts are long full skirts made of bold colorful tiered layers of fabric. These types of skirts are more for a casual wear style.
Wrap Skirt: Wrap skirts are skirts generally formed by basically a long piece of fabric wrapped around the body and fastened at the waist with either ties, hooks or buttons. These types of skirts come in a variety of lengths and can be worn for casual and summer wear.
Asymmetrical Skirt: Asymmetrical skirts feature a slanted hemline. These types of skirts come in a variety of lengths and can be worn for casual and formal wear.

I love all skirts, but I love, love, love pencil skirts! They are so flattering to the figure and look great with a loose shirt or one tucked in. I really love Maxi skirts for dressing up or down but it’s so hard to find ones long enough for me.
Skirts are fabulous! and I agree, pencil skirts are the best. Those maxi skirts do get long sometimes.
